ABOUT LOYISO
Loyiso is a standup comedian, actor and writer who was the first South Africa Correspondent for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, a position he quickly nabbed after a relatively short career in entertainment. Since starting as a standup in 2012, Loyiso quickly rose in the industry to become a writer and performer on the two-time Emmy Nominated Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola and the hit sketch show, The Bantu Hour, with Kagiso Lediga and Bra Hugh Masekela.
Loyiso starred alongside Pearl Thusi in Netflix’s first Africa original series, Queen Sono.
Also on Netflix is his half-hour standup special, Long Way From My Village.
He has performed at Switzerland’s Montreux Comedy Festival a couple of times and co-hosted their first live broadcast comedy extravaganza alongside Kagiso Lediga.
His debut one man show, Born Free-ish, is available on Showmax.
Loyiso is an international event host and was the master of ceremonies at 2018 Global Goals convention (New York) for the then Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He now co-hosts the Global Goal's podcast, An Idiot's guide To Saving The World, alongside Gail Gallie.
